Event Details

What did it take to go from a man-powered experimental submersible to a submarine ship killer used widely by all navies in just 50 years?
The presenter, Gary Q. Johnson, is a former US Naval Officer who was qualified in nuclear propulsion and in submarines and is a Civil War Navy Historian. He draws on his submarine experience to describe the human and technical challenges to transition from the barely capable Civil War Hunley to the highly capable World War I submarine.
